Plans are underway to add a stunning new attraction to Balintore’s sculpture trail – a merman sculpture to complement the existing Mermaid of the North. The proposed project, presented by Seaboard Memorial Hall Ltd, has captured the imagination of locals and visitors alike. If approved, the 8ft tall merman sculpture will be situated near the junction of Main Street and Hill Street, forming a pivotal part of the Coastal Sculpture Park.
The forthcoming proposal is set to be discussed during a Highland Council planning meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 9. The project aims to enhance the village’s appeal, particularly to those traveling along the North Coast 500 route, by showcasing captivating sculptures that celebrate the area’s maritime heritage.
